Just by the Arctic Circle, a little polar bear was born
His mummy was so proud and full of glee
Her joyous little bundle was her one and only child
And at last she had a proper family

She named him hairy Harry, as she held him in her arms
His furry coat was whiter than the snow
So long and thick in every way as it fell around his face
He looked just like a little Eskimo

She smothered him with love and care, both morning noon and night
And told him little stories every day
She held her baby oh so tight and never left his side
And she loved him more than words could ever say

As soon as he was old enough, he played out in the snow
With all his friends he met out on the plain
An artic fox, a little seal, a hawk on holiday
And a girlie polar bear, whose name was Jane

Jane and Harry fell in love, in each and every way
They clung to one another very tight
They used to sit and cuddle as the sun was setting low
Then kiss each other in the soft moonlight

They used to walk for many miles, and swim the ocean deep
Together they would play all on their own
A perfect little couple in most each and every way
And they shared a love that never had been known

One day as little Harry played, with his friends out in the snow
They were rolling down the steepest snowy hill
He felt a funny feeling as he shivered oh so much
Little Harry had contracted quite a chill

As he ran home to his mummy, Harry shivered so much more
He was not well, of that there was no doubt
When his mummy saw her boy, she nearly cried a million tears
Little Harrys hair had all but fallen out

The Doctor took a look at him, then shook his head a while
And diagnosed why Harry shivered so
The little bear had alopecia, and it really was severe
And this made young Harry feel so very low

He could not leave the house at all, he had to stay indoors
No more for him and Jane to jump the moon
Poor little Harry was so glum, he prayed with all his might
That summertime would arrive for him real soon

The arctic fox, the little seal and the hawk on holiday
They met with Jane, and some ideas they did float
Determined for to help their friend in his greatest hour of need
They set about to knit for him a coat

They found some wool and fluffy down, and they knitted night and day
But it was not ready for their friend to wear
Requiring, another ball of wool to knit his coat
So Jane donated some of her own hair

They gave the coat to Harry, and he was so overwhelmed
He cried with joy, and total gratitude
Thankful to his one true love, and all his many friends
For a coat that had a trendy little hood

He wore his coat for many months; he wore it with much pride
And it kept him warm as the winter took a hold
Sometimes the temperature went down to a minus 55
But little Harry never felt the cold

Then came one spring like morning, as the sun began to shine
And the ice upon the plain began to crack
Little Harry knew a miracle had happened to him now
As his furry hair had all but grown right back

No more for him to shiver so, or wear his woolly coat
No more for him to wait till May or June
He looked so cute and handsome, as he took his darlings arm
And they both set off to jump the crescent moon

Hairy Harry wed his one true love, and they had a little son
His fluffy hair, it fell around his face
But Harry knew that alopecia runs in families
So he kept his special coat safe, just in case
