A majestic sight thunders across the plains
Colors of black brown and whites a blur
Heads high in pride, challenging the wind
A stallion, black as a moonless night and constant
Snorts his dominance as powerful muscles ripple
A whicker and the herd turn with out faltering
Each one knows their place and follows accordingly
Colts are encircled for safety and pushed to the limits
A brown cloud of dust shrouds the tracks and fills the sky
Mane and tails flourish like flags of war held in pride
Running for their lives as ropers close in from behind
Chasing them into devils canyon where spirits die
Warrior hearts racing, hooves pound the ground
Fighting for freedom and loss of their soul
Smell of fear fills the air, as defeat becomes king
Man prevails, and the proud are now humbled
The plains become quiet and the dust has cleared
Desert ghosts wail in grief for recent lost brothers
